how to start execute a servlet in own computer not in internet

hi there all servlet developpers, i have learned a lot about servlet coding but the problem is that i can't start the servlet . what should i do in order to see what i want to see when i execute the program OR when i call the servlet directly from the browser which is internet explorer. please tell me every thing about executing . kerem
