G Ramesh,

something else you could try could resemble something like this:

out.println("<html>");
out.println("<body onLoad=\"<!--i'm can't remember - change default font
colour to same as background(white)-->\"");
out.println("Please Wait...");
out.flush();
out.println("<font color=black>done!</font>");
out.close();

this will come out as
<html>
<body onLoad="javascript function to change font color to background, and
maybe make size -5 or something">

Please Wait...

<!-- this will become really small and the same color as the background when
the onLoad method is run. Also an image could be used -->
<!--the html doc will wait.. make sure it doesn't have to wait too long! -->

<!-- this will override any javascript color changing method-->
<font color="black" size="+0">

done!

</font><!-- end color override-->

basically when the html page finishes loading the text(or image) is made
invisible by javascript (removing please wait messages). Any text after this
must be included in the <font> tag. This will override the changed font
therefore only that section displayed

browser output before:

Please Wait...

After:

done!

Most browsers support javascript. if they don't, the page shouldn't look that
bad anyway

hopefully you can understand this (i'm really bad at explaining things!)

Regards,
    Rob

PS - this works very very well for me (can't remember the javascript
functions. sorry)
