The way to do it is

  1. Applet maintains the server session either by sending
     sessionid as part of URL(URL rewriting) or writing sessionid
     cookie as part of request.
  2. Applet sends the data(New members in ur case) to the servlet as
     part of request.
  3. Servlet reads the data from request and updates in session
     object.
