hmm... me thinks you believe servlets are only slow because you are
developing and hence have to keep recompiling the things every single
time.  Speed wise JSP knocks asp into a hat when it gets going.

Plus, you lose this horrible Microsoft dependency, hence allowing your
web server to run on any Web server on any OS, such as Apache on Linux

Now this will be nice
