But I don't believe you can get a session by it's id. You used to but the
method is deprecated.

Well, not per say. I would simply "substitute" a token for this
one step. When creating the mulitpart page include a variable with some
token, then on POST grab the variable and create a new seesion based on
it. You are already parsing the incoming form anyhow. (You might be able
to get the old session if you send the id in that variable, I havn't
tested this.) Of course, depending on how much stuff you have in the
sesssion, this might still be some level of work.
