I'm still relatively new to this, but I believe your problem
may be because
your column is defined as LONG, but you're trying to assign
it to a String.
You may want to try this statement instead...
long crdesc = rs.getLong("CRDESC");
If you need crdesc to be a String, convert it after you get
it into a long
variable.

the getString? Please help....thanks.
