By the look of it I can guess that you either haven't configured apache or
zones properly. At the end of httpd.conf there should be an include of a
JServ module config so check if it's there. (By the way don't even try to
use Apache coming with Mandrake - they've changed module architecture and
JServ just doesn't work :( ).

Coming to zones, there are refecences to zones in JServs configuration
files. and an example of a zone file.

So in your case you should have created a zone 'example' on your server and
copied mail1.class to zone directory.

Be aware that zones do not extend to sub-directories!
