Subject: Question regarding servlet use and its lifecycle ???

Hi,

If I write a HTTP servlet and register it with the server say Weblogic
server.

1. How is the scheduling of the servlet done during runtime in case of
multiple client access ? By this what I want to know is that, are
multiple instances of servlets created for multiple client accesses ?
2. If multiple instances of servlets are created, is the init() method
called for each instance of the servlet ?
3. After finishing the processing for the client does the instance of
the servlet persist or does it get destroyed ?
4. If the instances of the servlet persist how does the server decide on
the maximum, minimum and optimum number of servlet instances that can be
running on the server ?
5. Are all the instances 'destroyed' only when the server is brought
down ?

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thank You.

Sanjay.
