Hello.

I'm running jserv (ApacheJServ/1.1) on a freebsd box. The problem is
every so often I get the following error:

[Wed May 31 14:46:07 2000] [emerg] JServ: ajp12: can not connect to host
+127.0.0.1:8007
[Wed May 31 14:46:07 2000] [emerg] JServ: ajp12: connection fail
[Wed May 31 14:46:07 2000] [error] JServ: an error returned handling request via
+protocol "ajpv12"

If you hit refresh, it comes back up... for awhile.

1. Any idea what is causing the error (why can't it connect to the localhost?)

2. Can the standard message being printed (blah...see the administrator...blah)
be changed so at least the user can be told to hit refresh.

3. how can you affect the policy of when a servlet is dumped? On a
very lightly loaded system, the servlet doesn't seem to stay in memory
very long. By looking at the jserv.log it gets created very often even
though it's the only servlet (even if the above error did not occur). This
takes the main advantage of using servlets away.

thanks for your time

mike
