The only times I've encountered slow servlets is when something in the
servlet starts thrashing memory. I'd check all your code and see if
something is causing a problem.

Subject: Servlets running slow ?

Hi

Has anyone experienced the following problem with Jserv running servlets.

Every now and then the performance of our sevlets really slows down. I
notice if I reset the following process, all is back to normal.

wwwrun 24939 16989 0 Jun07 ? 00:02:08
/usr/lib/jdk1.2.2/bin/i386/green
_threads/java org.apache.jserv.JServ
/usr/local/apache/conf/jserv/jserv.properti
es

When the servlets are behaving themselves the process time on the above is
very low. It seems to get slow as soon as the processing time builds up.
Killing it off so as it respawns always fixes the problem. It seems that
some code we have written causes the process time to just keep building up.
Should this process repawn and manage itself.

Best wishes

Paul
