The great thing about servlets is that they can access files anywhere on
the system.  Instead of getting the html files from your web server why not
just read them and stream them back to your browser.  By doing it this way
you can place them anywhere you want and they are not reliant upon the web
server.

Need Help!

I have an authentication problem,

I like to use a servlet for making authentication using a database
I am using apache web server and tomcat servlet container.
I like to hide some html files and serve them to only
the users in my database.If I use CGI I can make an alias
in httpd.conf file for a CGI program to run when some one access
some part of my web work but I cant find any way for
hide my directories in document root.I need to intercept the users
and pass through my servlet then go on their way.

Any Suggestions ......
