Hello,
If you are using IIS 4.0 or 3.0 and jrun2.3
the condition for getting the remoteUser is that you set a restriction on
Jrun.dll through the IIS console.
At least this is what I had to do.
I think the explanation is that the remoteUser only works for the
requested resource, which in this case is actually the jrun.dll.
I hope this helps,

Subject: HttpServletRequest.getRemoteUser(0 returns null value

hello all !
i am using JRun to run the servlet.
The servlet is using HttpServletRequest.getRemoteUser() to get current
remote user name.
But This method is returning null as user value though the local machine
has a name in DNS server.
The value of DNS is written in the properties of TCP/IP protocol. ( i hope
this is THE DNS name is required to get remote user )

Please let me know how to get remote user name using getRemoteUser()

Thanks
sandeep
