Try replacing the : with |.
e.i. href=file:///C|/jdk1.2.2/demo/SummerProject/SecondStage.htm
On another note, if you'd like a cool, free tool for checking your HTML, try
downloading this tool. I got it about a month ago and find it very useful
in tracking down things I accidentally left out of my servlet.
http://www.chami.com/html-kit/. (Open file/URL then go to Tools->Check Code
using TIDY.)

Subject: Creating anchors from servlets
I have some code below from a servlet which is not performing as I want it.
out.println("<a
href=file:///C:/jdk1.2.2/demo/SummerProject/SecondStage.htm><img
src=file:///C:/jdk1.2.2/demo/Summer
Project/images/Clickl.gif border=0></a>");
The HTML page produced by the servlet (running under the jsdk1.2, on win '98
and Netscape4.7/IE5)
should have a link to a file back on my computer (i.e. NOT on the server).
Does anybody know what is wrong with the code, or how to do this (apparently
simple) function?
