Whoever wrote this:
>>java is unbeatable!!!!.<<
hasn't followed much of the MS history. Has MS ever lost to any competitor?
Go ask CPM, Apple, Stacker, Sybase, CompuServe, et. al. Lately they claim
they have even beaten AOL in number of members. I only know of Palm OS and
they are still fighting that war.
Now, I don't think we need yet another programming language, but I think
this C# strategy is pretty clever. Sun won't let MS ruin Java. Sun won't
let Java be a true standard language. So MS takes their Java compiler,
changes its name and the syntax a bit, builds a new run-time engine common
for any language, and tells everyone they are going to make C# a standard
language without the problems of C++.
So what's Sun going to do now?
Just my $.02
