while reading your mail i got an idea. it is crude but I couldn't think
of anything else.

you can throw up a frame from the applet with another applet embedded in it.
this applet can then get the url and show it. It is clumsy and little ugly
also
as the frame will have a warning message "Unsigned Applet window" in the
status bar.

will mail you ifi can think of something better
