     You can set up a Socket Factory that restricts your RMI sessions
to a single port.  You should be able to find discussions of this
approach with a little poking around on various list archives (like,
say, the RMI-Users list).  You'd still need to get them to open up a
single port for you, but you're more likely to get a single port than
to get all ports.
