Hi,
Thanks a lot.
It's up and running.

Hey!
Like Doug says you need a Type-3 JDBC driver.
Microsoft strikes again. I guess you didn't know that
Microsoft does not support JDBC for SQLServer. Opps!
Microsoft supports ASPs and VB not Java. So if
you are going to stick with Java then you need to get
a DB that supports Java.
Otherwise, you will need to buy a driver from some place else.
Merant comes to mind but I think their driver costs
$4500. Opps again. You may have gotten SQLServer
for free, but now you're really gonna pay.
Doug Turner's work around is not good for production.
When something goes wrong
with the JDBC Type-3 driver bundled with BEA's Weblogic, and
you are using a competitor Application Server, BEA is
going to be reluctant to cooperate.
I heard there is a JDBC driver from a German company.
I lack info. though.
I suggest that you switch to DB2 UDB. They write there own
driver and therefore can be held accountable. Oh, yes Oracle too.
Also, I heard that Informix is also finally smelling Java.
Sorry about this off-topic posting, but I just can't resist dumping
on MS when I can.
Sans adieu,
Danny Rubis
