I think you can use the following to get IP of client:
HttpServletRequest.getRemoteAddr()

I asked the same question several month ago, and from the
repling emails,  if your client use a "proxy" to connect to your servlet,
perhaps you will get the IP of "proxy"(not the IP of your client).
So now I don't use this way, now I use TCP socket to get IP
of my client.
