Hey!
I have a webserver (A) that processes requests for a website for
non-members.
Non-members can get information about services, member policies and etc.
Additionally, a member can join.
After joining and receiving a password a member can login. This login
process
is handled by webserver (B). Upon logging-in I create a session and
redirect
to a page with a "have successfully logged-in" and a hotlink
(encodeRedirectURLed)
back to the web page on webserver (A). Now the members-only hotlinks
are enabled for the logged-in member for the web page on webserver (A).
If the client's web browser supports cookies, this scheme works good.
But, for URL rewriting it does not. Does anyone have any clues why. I
know that I am doing something wrong with creating the sessionid on
webserver (B) and expecting webserver (A) to pass along the sessionid.
But is there a way around this problem?
I feel this is important because small web browsers like those for
wireless Palm Pilots and web enabled Cellular Phones do not support
cookies.
Sans adieu,
Danny Rubis
