In an HttpServlet the most likely result is that your servlet will
subsequently get an IOException (or some servlet exception wrapping
the IOException) thrown at it when it next tries to write to the
client. Until then your servlet will probably continue executing.
You can use a servlet to communicate with an applet if you want to,
it would probably not be an Http servlet, but rather your own
protocol in that case. You can speak whatever protocol you like
using a generic servlet.
