BSD is one of the best server OS's around, maybe the best. Unfortunately
it's also one of the worst supported Java platforms. It's really sad.
Once you get a good Java environment installed on your BSD system you
will have no trouble finding a server: any pure Java servlet engine will
do a great job. Many of the good engines are pure Java.
The trouble will be finding the good JVM. You might be forced back to
Java 1.1 to get a stable environment, or you might have to run something
in Linux emulation mode. Concentrate on finding a good, solid JVM for
your BSD operating system.
I'd be more specific but you haven't mentioned which BSD you have:
OpenBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD, or BSDi.
Isn't it terribly ironic that Sun started out as a BSD shop, and
that today BSD is the one platform they always forget about?
