Each email to the servlet-interest list is saved off in
a big searchable database, or archive. It is considered
polite to search the mailing list archive before you post
a question, because chances are your question has been
asked and answered already.

 For example, the display-results-page-by-page question
was asked very recently, and there are some good answers
in the archives.

A link to the archives is available at the bottom of
every message posted to this list, and you should have
gotten a message that explained all this when you
signed up.

I think it's generally recognized that not everyone
is fluent in English, so there's some allowance made,
especially when people are polite enough to ask for
further explanation, as you've done. Generally, though,
the phrase "RTFA" or "read the informative archives"
is an appropriate response to people who insist on
asking others to do their work.
