Hi,
That should be simple. Hoping that some Web-server is running at that
port(are there any other applications that would use this port?), just key
in
http://localhost:8080/
in your browser.
Also, I agree with Matthias. Open a new console window. And then start the
server from console. This time, since you are opening the new window, the
console will not just flash and disappear and you will be able to view the
errors.
One question though, have you installed any web server application as a
Windows NT service (or added some code in autoexec.bat if you are using Win
95/98)? Check up the services running on your machine.
Hope this helps,
tanmay

Hi,
How do I know that 8080 port is already being used. I am using windows 2000.
After installing Tomcat also, the screen is just flashing and going away.
Bye

Is the "flashing screen" a console window opened and then quickly closed?
Try
to run the file in question from a console you opened by yourself so you can
see what error(s) JSWDK returns.
>From what I heard, JSWDK lacks some features which makes development much
harder (like servlet reloading), so I recommend you to download Tomcat
(http://jakarta.apache.org). It's fairly powerful and easy to set up and get
started with.
