Now I change my opinion :-)  I suggest you NOT to use  SingleThreadModel.
when you want to lock your code.

The reason that I suggest to use SingleThreadModel several day ago is:
I hope with a *new kind of implementing* of SingleThreadModel by Servlet
container provider,  I can solve my doubt  of *class/instance*, but now I find
with Servlet Specification v2.2,  most of my doubt(not all) have already been
solved.

But perhaps you need to test it if your Servlet container is
*pre - Servlet Specification v2.2* .
