Are you creating another URLConnection for the second try?
You need to be aware that the URLConnection to a HTTP server
is a 'once only' connection, you can send only one request and
receive only one reply with it, unless you use keep-alives
(perhaps, never used them myself).
To communicate a second time create a new URLConnection and use
that. Ditto for every subsequent request and reply.
