I think one should be cautious when using multi-part responses. As far I
know, IE does not support Multi-part responses. Please correct me if I am
wrong.

If you want to go for it, have a look at Jason Hunter's COS package
available at http://www.servlets.com/resources/com.oreilly.servlet/  There
is a nice multipart response class out there to do all the job for you.
