JSP/Servlet, EJB seems to be a good combination forthose who require
scalability. EJB's are interfaced via RMI. I'm no expert but I believe this
means that's it's easy to add more machines to your site without reworking
your code. From a servlets point of view it doesn't care wether the EJB is
running in the same JVM or on a machine ina different part of the world. It
merely loads a remote interface over a network and starts invoking
methods... this would provide the scalability you seek...
A good EJB implementation should provide security and transaction management
features.
I would also pay attention to insuring that all your server side code is
serializable and thread safe.(This may be obvious though)..
