Yes, this is easily done, I've done it, so you should be able to do it as
well...

When you enter a URL on your wap browser, just have it point to a servlet !
http://localhost/servlet/MyWMLServlet
Just change the content type to "text/wml" and make sure the servlet output
a correct <card></card> like document

You can have the WML servlet access a database through JDBC like a normal
servlet.
