Subject: Thread thru Servlet
Hello Guys,
I have written a servlet which sends mail to around 40000 users. This
servlet starts a thread after inserting all the records into the Db.
The thread which is started in background takes the list of users from DB
into an array and starts sending mails.
After starting the thread the servlet should show a confirmation page with
the thread started in background.
but it doesnt happen. the confirmation page is only shown after all the
40000 mails have been sent.
Why is the servlet waiting for the thread to exit???.
I guess the thread should not interfere and should be running on its own.
Please Help
Thanx in advance
Purav
