I am working on a JSP/Servlet project in IBM HTTP Server, WebSphere and
AIX environment. We have encounter a problem and need your help.
We need provide a search function for our user, the search only search
certain directory of our server file system(file type include .doc, .zip,
.pdf, etc.), We need provide user the links to the file when user typed in
certain string in the search box. We know one product Microsoft Index
Server - a plugin of IIS works exactly the way we want. The Index Server
will index all the files in the directory you want to search and save the
information in a seperate file, when you search, just search that file and
get the result rigth away. But unfortunately, we are using IBM HTTP
Server on IBM AIX machine and Microsoft Index Server only works on IIS and
NT.
I was wondering is anybody have a similar situation and have used some good
file index tools and solutions? Really appreciated for any information and
suggestions.
