I just quickly wrote an answer to a similar problem on devicetop.com. For
the most part it's a Session issue. Read it at:

Subject: Passing data from 1 servlet to another
Hi all,
I have a problem and I cant seem to find the answer for it in the
archives.
Description:
================================================================
I have built servlets to register a person, putting all there details
in my Access database. I also have a Login servlet, where users enter
their password and Unique ID number, this gives them access to my
site. When they are in the site(successfully logged in), i have given
the option of changing their password, they click on a link and it
brings them to a new servlet, ChangePassServlet.
Here they are asked to enter their ID and their new password.....
Problem:
====================================================================
How do I carry the ID number entered when they were logging on to the
service(in the LoginServlet) thru to the ChangePassServlet?I need
this value to validate the ID they enter in ChangePassServlet with
the ID they used to login.
Any help on this would be great.
Thank you in advance to anyone that helps me.
I have read about Chaining servlets, but thats not what I need, as
chaining servlets is a chain of servlets that call eachother, but in
my case the ChangePassServlet may not be called if the user does not
want to change their password. It is only called if the user clicks
on the link to that servlet!!
Hope someone can help.
Kind Regards,
Jennifer
