I am a french student. I am writing a documentation which is aimed at
introducing the servlets fundamentals. There are enough docs out there to
understand the technical aspects of the technology but I need something else.
I would like to know what are the key features which lead CTO or project
managers to choose the servlets for web applications. Is it a matter of speed
of development ? Is it a matter of performance (connection pooling, execution
model of servlets) ? Is it a matter of portability ? Is it a matter of
commercial partnerships (influence of Sunetc...) ? Something else ?
Since I know nothing about "computing in the real world", I apologize if I
shocked someone with my (eventually) stupid questions.
