Read the "How to" docs in the \\[Jakarta _Home]\docs directory. You
need to set up a web applications framework (model it on the
\webapps\examples\ directory structure) and reflect that in a web.xml
file local to your web application subdirectory below webapps. Then
create a virtual directory in your webserver to reflect the html root
of your new web app. Then you create your servlet in some projects
directory that mirrors the web applications framework and use Ant
(comes with Tomcat, but I found the full version (with docs) better)
to compile and transfer your new application to the Jakarta webapps
directory.

I know this sounds complicated, and it is. Jakarta, no doubt, will
soon have a GUI wizard that guides you through this, but for now, you
have to RTFM. It tooks me 3 days to learn how to do this and no one
on this list responded to my requests for help (besides the occasional
flame - "go to the Jakarta list, lamer").

Cheers!
Mark
