The situation (with ISPs not offering the service) is the same with
many advanced web technologies. How many ISPs offer mod-perl access?
probably fewer than offer servlets.
ISPs fear security problems with anything more sophisticated than CGI
scripts or ASPs. This is a pretty stoopid attitude considering the
security problems both of those technologies have.
We should all complain loudly to our ISPs and start voting with our
feet.
