In this moment the package javax.servlet only contains the subpackage HTTP
but it is thinked to include in no long future more subpackages protocols.
It would have have no sense to create such a server programming way and
not include all the protocols left (FTP ,SMTP or any) I am waiting too for
this.

Asunto: other protocol than HTTP suported
Hi,
As I am reading several documents about servlets (and the Servlet API
documentation), I can see that servlets can be developed on top of other
protocol than HTTP. This could lead to extends the functionalities of a
FTP server for example. Ths is very interesting and, to me, would be one
of the most original part of the Servlet technology. However, i haven't
seen any of these possibilities in the real world.
So my questions are : Have you seen it ? Are there plans to do it (beta
server, beginning of support somewhere) ? Is it at least possible ?
Thanks for your help in advance.
