Subject: Multi-user Servlet
Hello!
First I want to thank Nic and Benjamin for their replies. They did
help. This problem arised after looking into the tutorials and making some
examples.Anyway , I'm glad to hear that things can be made in more than one
way (and that my question has a base behind after all).. I guess it like the
saying -" when you have a hammer you tend to see every problem as a nail".
Thanks again, guys!
I do have though, another question. Servlets are said to be multi
user. Now , practically they are 'tiggered' through a POST method in the
HTML page. What I really want to know is how are they working.
I mean, what happens when a two users at the same time 'trigger' the
servlet? How do I handle the multi-task-ing? I'm reading the docs but as I
recall the tutorial of j2ee (Duke's Bookstore) si using SingleThread model.
This means that only one user can communicate with the servlet? What about
the others in this case ?
And how can I do track-session when the servlet is working with
multiple users? Do I open a task for every request and make a session for
it? Isn't that a resource-eater?
Waiting for your enlightement (again)...
P.S. By the way , can anyone recommed some good books about servlets/jsp &
ejb? I may have asked this but I really got to know.Every where I look I
find only "satellite-view" articles. And I did find that book Benjamin was
talking about but it was only for sale. I'm looking for free-online book and
this sure wasn't.
Costin
