This question has been asked so many times that I put an example at
http://volga.wantjava.com/. (Note that this does not include a "good XSL
file" but an example of how to make your own, which is much better !)
If you try the example, just clic on the button on the initial form and ask
you browser to open the response in Word, or save it and open in later. (The
response should open directly in Word when using IE, but there are problems
with IE5.5)

i want my servlet to generate RTF Format
i saw that xml and xsl is good for generating rtf fromat
i dont have any xsl stylesheet for rtf
is there any one know about rtf stylesheet which can be parsed by xalan????
