java.sql.Date is a _date_.
java.sql.Time is a _time_ (you know, "11:30 PM")
java.sql.Timestamp is a "datetime" (as in MySQL, i have _no clue_ as to
why this isn't a SQL92 thingy), which includes both, but with a load of
extra presicion.
Both the date and time uses milliseconds from epoch (I believe), and the
results you got are the ones you should get.
Have fun!
