Thanks for replying. I just find it odd that you have to know about Tomcat
to acquire SERVLET.JAR. It seems like there should be a master copy at
Sun, and Tomcat should simply include a copy of that master. If you're not
using Tomcat, then having to go to both Javasoft and Apache to get the
necessary pieces doesn't seem intuitive to me.
The same comment holds true for the source code. I actually was already
aware of the Jakarta copy, but I assumed that it was only a copy, and that
there should have been a "master" download at Javasoft somewhere. I guess not.
Am I the only one that finds this distribution of files a little strange?
Thanks again.
Jay

Subject: Re: Downloads?
Hi Jay,
I'm having the same problem with the Servlet and JSP specs.
Can't download PDF nor PS versions. I hope they will fix
this soon.
If you download the tomcat4 binaries (follow the link on
java.sun.com/products/servlet) then you will find the
servlet.jar in tomcat_dir/common/lib.
If you want the sources just download the servletapi-4-src
package (which is in the src directory if you follow the
link on the sun site).
Hope this helped.
Cheers
Torsten
