Every message to servlet-interest is saved to a big
searchable database called "the archive". There's a
link to the archive at the bottom of this (and every
other) message. Since the archive now has several
years worth of questions and answers in it, there's
a good chance that any given question has been asked
at least once before. So it's a good idea to give
the archive (and maybe google) a quick try before
posting to the list.
If you search the archive with search terms like
"serial port", then you'll probably find at least
one answer. (Ok, I just checked, you are 100% sure
to find a good answer)
