Hi, accessing the RS232 Port can be done with the COMMAPI from SUN. Check java.sun.com for the API, theres also some example code.
But i fear the last update of the API was in 1998 ... and sun says that it wasnt tested with Java2 yet. My application running under J2SE 1.3 shows no problems using the COMMAPI so i guess it will work with the J2EE too.
