There is no command line or a concept of environment variables in the
classic mac os. You will have to use JBindery to set the required variables
and classpath, and make it an application.

Also, as you mentioned, mrj2.2.4 is equivalent to jdk 1.1.8, and you need at
least jdk1.2 compliance to run tomcat4 (tomcat3 can and does run on the
classic macos). You might try to get collections.zip rfom the sun site, but
still, I would definitely advise against running tomcat 4 on the classic
macos. Now in mac osx, there you have the beacon that'll rid the world of
all the dark and divisive forces.
