That's possible with Windows NT, 2000, XP.
That's not possible with Windows 95,98,Millenium.
Yes, in production the servlet container should run
as a service.
In development it is quite usefull to run it in a window.
Not an expert, but, looks like these are the servlet
containers that will do that (look at the container
docs for details on how to run them as a service)
Tomcat 3.3, 4.0.1 (pay-free)
Bea Weblogic (commercial)
IBM Websphere (commercial)
Caucho Resin ($500 for commercial use, free for development
hobby and etc use)
