Why not access the htdocs directly from the network? This should be done on
a development platform isolated from the deployment and production servers,
anyway.

Anyone have experience with placing the htdocs directory on a different
physical drive than the Web Server? We would like to set up our development
environment to access htdocs from the network so we can share gracefully.
