i agree that session.putValue ( ) is deprecated but the how should that affect a single machine ?

The work flow is typically like After login in, A Login Servlet validates the user and sets two variables like user_id,role in to session ( using session.putValue( ) method ) and then depending on role the user is redirected to a new servlet redirection is done using reponse.sendRedirect( ) method Now my problem is with a single machine.
