Hi folks, I'm thinking of coming out with a Servlet that resides on my Tomcat that would receive user/password details from the clients and sends back whether the user is authenticated or not. But this design would not be confined to Java -or- web applications. I want to use TCP/IP so that clients from other platforms/technology could also (i.e. asp, VB clients) could also communicate with this Servlet as well.
Now I know this seems quite simplistic since I don't really know how to proceed. Would really appreciate it if someone out there could provided me with a few pointers of what to look out for. Several things:- - Do I need to set my own protocol? - When I extend the generic servlet, what operators would I need to override.. Is there any resource available out on the net/mailing-list about this? Thanks! regards, Cheong Takhoe ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff SERVLET-INTEREST".
