you can have a hidden frame that handles the request and use target=.. in ur html

or without setting up framesets u can use javascript and update the src of a hidden IFRAME (HTML 4.0 supported)

I have a question that has been bothering me for some time.  How would you set up a link(or a form) to just execute a servlet request, but not refresh the page. e.g. a link <a href="http://servlet/execute?mde=1>Click here</a> would execute the request but the Web page would remain the same.  This would be a huge help, thank you.
