Jason is busy with the JDOM project and AFAIK, has no plans for writing a third edition any time soon. Have you read the 2.3 specification (java.sun.com/products/servlet)? There simply is no substitute for the specification.
Further, you can find "Java Development Journal," "Java Pro," and other current articles on 2.3 online - a simple search would yield hundreds of results. Finally, fix your reply-to. I'm a java programmer but I'm new to servlets and tomcat. I've been reading this ML for a few days now and I realise this book would be of good interest: "Java servlet programming" by J.Hunter. The last edition is the second from April 2001 and covers servlet ver 2.2. My question is: Does anyone know if a third edition is about to be released ? Because computer books are quite expensive (even used ones) and API evolves so quickly, I would not like to buy an outdated version. If you know another good book on this subject, thanks to advise me!
