hi,
I had a similar problem with my application which was a web-based
e-mail client.

It worked fine when there were no proxies. Are u behind
firewall/proxy?

Hi everyone.

I have a online feedback form which uses the sun.net.smtp.SmtpClient class.
sun.* is no longer supported by Sun for some reason.

anyway...my servlet works fine when at home (Microsoft ME, modem connected
to
phone port) and i recieve the mail in the web mail specified in the servlet.

However, i deployed the servlet at my university (network) and it doesn't
seem
to work. I get a mailhost error. I believe there is some network issue and
i
have no idea why it is not working. All my other servlets work fine at
university.

Has anyone had this problem before? or more importantly is there an
alternative
way of getting user feedback to a specified email address using anything
other
than sun.*

I appreciate any help regarding this.

Thank you all.
Dharmesh
