I always keep static content in webserver but used to specify in the configuration of connection with App server that only for this files go to App server and rest serve from web server only. But how to do that with Apache and Tomcat configuration for a Web Application. Without web application it is simple as the servlets will be run using servlet invoker and the url will always /servlet
